I used to be from the school of thought the said (in a French accent) water your plants every now and then and that's it.

 

That particular process gave me plants that I had spent my hard earned money on crumble up and die. This turned dark rather suddenly.

 

But now I'm more careful, if you are going to invest in plants, care for them properly, fertilise, repot, trim, turn and speak to nicely. You'll save money on replacements and enjoy long plant relationships which will make you are better person.
