24 hours in Melbourne by Kiosk stores.

Ok so not strictly 24 hours but more of a " if you come and visit us this is our go to list" . We love living in Melbourne and there are the usual suspects but this is our more local view.

The hot springs in Mornington Peninsula, I agree these are expensive but I do think they are worth a visit, you have to admire some thermal healing,

Driving your own boat along the Yarra, this is a really great family or friends activity, you can load a picnic, don't need a license to use the boats and hire by the hour. It gives you are great aspect of the city and the closeness of the botanical gardens.

Speaking of the botanical gardens, they really do deserve a walk through. Nothing encourages good conversation as much as a pleasant walk through a plant and wildlife wonderland, the up keep and planting is really impressive, my favourite part is Fern gully. Great for a picnic.

Embla, my absolute favourite restaurant in Melbourne. The food is sensational, the wine list has lots of delicious natural wines and there really is nothing more to add other than I don't love telling more people to go there incase it means I won't get in.

South Melbourne Market. I believe this is the closest to Borough market that Melbourne has, I think the atmosphere is the best on a Saturday and no wander is complete without sitting on one of the bar stools at La Central and having a glass of sherry and some of their pretty overpriced but delicious salty almonds.

And lastly Gimlet. You need to save before you go, its not regular pricing but good golly it is European glamour and worth every cent. If you can get one of the seats on the outside looking in you really are in for a good time. Start your meal with a gimlet and let the outstanding service and food allow you to feel like royalty for a lunchtime.
